Hey! My name is Jaelyn, and I’m a Program Coordinator at a mental health partial care program. I have been working in the field of mental health and human services for the past nine years. I have a BA and an MA in Criminal Justice and I am currently working towards my MSW to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
During my time working in the justice system I noticed all the people I worked with no matter the age had one thing in common , poor mental health. I realized then in order to see real progress in rehabilitation, the key would be to help people learn to heal from within.
This realization pushed me to pursue a career as a licensed therapist. As I work towards getting my license I want to create spaces where I can encourage others to learn more about mental health and wellness on line and in real life. My goal in creating this online space is to share my thoughts, and experiences using coping skills and other wellness techniques to build and maintain a positive lifestyle.
Even if you have never been to therapy or been diagnosed with a mental illness or disorder there are ways that we can all take better care of ourselves. Making time in our busy lives to prioritize our mental clarity goes a long way. Small efforts help us see big improvements when we are ready to make change in our lives. Whether change is what you want or just a space to read and learn more about mental health, I hope you can find something that helps you here!
Best of luck to you on your journey.
